COMPANY NEWS
Chlorine dioxide is an extremely reactive gas which, because it is unstable and cannot be stored, must be manufactured in special generating units in the required quantities, on the site where it is to be used.
Chlorine dioxide offers a range of advantages for disinfecting drinking water and water for reuse compared to the more frequently used agent, chlorine. The disinfecting power of chlorine dioxide actually increases with increasing pH values whereas with chlorine it drops off.
Chorine dioxide remains stable in the water distribution system over a relatively long period of many hours to a number of days thus ensuring microbiological protection of the water.
Chlorine is greatly depleted as a result of the reaction with ammonia or ammonicium compounds. These compounds are not, however, affected by chlorine dioxide so that chlorine dioxide loses none of its bacteriacidal activity in water. Chlorino-phenol compounds with their intense odour, which are normally produced during water chlorination, are not produced when chlorine dioxide is used. Chloroform is a carcinogen from the group of substances known as trihalomethanes (THMs) and there is currently concern that the whole group is likewise carcinogenic.
Here too, we are ready to meet your needs with the appropriate water systems, dosing, measurement and control technology and our extensive know-how for you.
