COMPANY NEWS

A number of processes within the textile indstry involve water. For instance, water is produced for boiler water, humidification, and rinse water which are used in the treatment of textiles.

Use of water in the wet processes
Rinse water is used in wet treatment processes, e.g. pretreatment, colouring, printing, and subsequent treatment of textiles. During the pretreatment, the unwanted substances, which were added to the textiles in previous production processes, are washed out. When colouring and printing textiles, softened water should be used in order to gain the best result. Finally, the surplus substances from the colouring and printing are washed out.

Minimizing the environmental impact
The purpose of the water treatment is among other things to minimize the environmental impact, i.e. the use of chemicals, environmentally harmful substances, and the quantity of discharged waste water
